chasing light and capturing beautiful, authentic, and creative stories.

Originally from Colorado, I now call Mount Horeb home. My husband and I moved here with our five kids (yes, five!) for a new opportunity, and we decided the adventure was too good to pass up. We've built a life here that we love, and I'm lucky enough to photograph other families throughout the Madison area and beyond.

After more than a decade of photographing families, I've learned that the photographs people treasure most aren't always the perfectly posed ones.

Of course, I'll make sure you get that beautiful, classic family portrait—everyone looking at the camera and smiling.

But then I want to capture what happens in between.

The belly laughs. The little hands reaching for yours. The way your kids crawl into your lap. The ridiculous moments. The quiet ones. The personalities that make your family yours.

My approach to photography combines gentle direction with genuine connection. I'll help you know where to stand and what to do so you never have to wonder, "What am I supposed to do with my hands?" But I also give your family room to move, play, snuggle, and simply be yourselves.

You don't need perfectly behaved kids. You don't need to know how to pose. And you definitely don't need to have a picture-perfect life.

You just need to show up. I'll take care of the rest.

Why I do this

I've always loved meeting people and hearing their stories. But what keeps me photographing families year after year is knowing how quickly these seasons change.

Your kids won't always be this little.

The hands you're holding won't always fit inside yours.

The chaos that sometimes makes you want to pull your hair out will eventually become something you miss.

Photography gives you a way to hold onto it.

My goal is to create photographs that, years from now, take you right back to this season—to the people you loved, the way your children laughed, and how it felt to have everyone together.
